Mr. Steven Wnorowski, M.Ed. Teaching Bio
I am veteran teacher of over 24 years teaching Social Studies at various high school and middle schools in Texas and New Mexico. I initially earned my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a teaching certificate from Indiana University. After leaving Indiana I eventually ended up in New Mexico teaching middle school for Chaparral M.S. While there I enrolled in the Education Curriculum and Instruction graduate program at New Mexico State University. There I studied the role of technology's use in instruction. I eventually earned my Masters Degree in Education. Over the course of my career I've successfully taught all the AP Core Social Studies Courses including AP World History, APUSH, AP Government and AP Macro-Economics.
I've also had the pleasure of leading a successful youth & government club at Austin H.S. where students were recognized as distinguished delegates multiple times. While at Parkland and Silva Health Magnet High Schools I led student teams to the State competition in the National History Day competition.
Beyond teaching I had the honor of serving on the 2007 TCSS State Conference Organizing Committee. It was a very successful conference in El Paso with a variety of speakers and field trips highlighting the American Southwest historical influence in the various social studies content fields. In the early 2000's I helped put together UTEP's inet conference which included the opportunity to present to professionals about how to integrate technology into their teaching.
